Australia: The Commonwealth marine reserve proposal for the Coral Sea region was launched by the Federal Minister for Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities, Tony Burke, on 25 November 2011.

No More Pectoral Fin Removal
Friday, 11th November 2011.
Queensland recreational fishers will no longer be required to remove the pectoral fin from coral reef fin fish and Spanish mackerel from today following changes to Queensland fishing rules.
